What is home dust allergy?

It is the organism's reaction to repeated contact with home dust. The home dust allergy is also known as acarian allergy.
Almost 20% of the global population has home dust sensitivity. These persons have an increased risk of getting some diseases such as allergic asthma.

Home dust allergy causes

The house dust is a mixture of substances: it can contain canvas fibers, human dead skin particles, animal hair, microscopical living creatures called acarians. A person can be allergic to one or more of these substances, but the most frequent are the acarians.

What are acarians? (dust mites)

Acarians are microscopical creatures, related to spiders, which proliferate in humidity and warm conditions. They can be found in almost all our houses in: bed sheets, carpets, etc (only when these things are exposed to dust). You can find between 100,000 and 10 millions acarians only in your bed sheets.

Usual dust removal methods such as sweeping can aggravate the situation of an allergic person, because the particles from the carpet are brought up into the air, causing strong cough.

Are the house dust allergies seasonal allergies?

The acarian is a permanent allergy causing living creature. But its multiplication period is in July-August, the same as their highest level of concentration. The lowest level of acarians is in April-May.

The home dust allergy treatment

Even if the acarians cannot be completely removed from your house, there is a series techniques which, consistently applied, can decrease the dust concentration:

eliminate all humidity sources
use sheets that are easy to clean and clean them from 10 to 10 days in hot water(80-90 degrees Celsius)
after washing, sear the sheets accordingly
if possible, the allergic person should leave the house during the cleaning process

If you follow these procedures and the symptoms persist, a doctor can prescribe some medicine or immunotherapy with anti-allergic vaccine. Also, for treating allergies, acupuncture combined with Chinese plants tea can have a favorable effect.
