When we want to lose weight, we go for water therapy. Water is everything. It flushes out impurities in your skin, leaving you with a clear, glowing complexion that others may often wonder if you are still young or you happen to look young. Water becomes our beauty treatment. But it is not only for beauty treatment; water is our key to lose weight. The potion for losing that excess body fat is around you. It is all around you in fact! I will give you a clue. It covers two thirds of the planet. Yes! It is water. Are you drinking enough water? As often advised by doctor, we should take eight glasses of water a day. That is no joke. If we think of it, it is not really much. The water consumption is spread throughout the day anyway. You do not need to drink the eight glasses in one sitting. That would be absurd, right? In fact, it is not healthy at all to drink too much water at one time. If you feel thirsty, you are already becoming dehydrated. Then you need to drink to hydrate yourself again. However, you also need to drink water when you are not thirsty. If you think it is tasteless and you would rather go for a soda, a juice or anything to drink that has taste, you can put a slice of lemon or lime in the glass so that your water would have some taste. Try it. I enjoy taking my water with a slice of lemon. It is even good for my body too. Now, of course, we are eager to lose weight. So we read all sorts of articles about losing weight. We consult dietician or nutritionist, or if we do not have the time to go to a gym, we surf on the net and look up key terms that would aid us in losing weight. Low-carb diet is often suggested when we want to lose weight. It is not easy to follow this advice. People drop out of this kind of diet because the food that is fattening is the one that is enticing and mouth-watering for us. Well-known low-carb diets, to name a few, are the Atkins diet and Protein Power. Aside from this, we also need low-fat diet. Mainly, it is planning our diet to meet our goal. It is not attractive to cut down on high-fat foods, but if we really have a goal, we will do it because this is part of the game of losing weight. We keep on counting our calorie intake so that we can keep track if we are close to meeting our dream. Does low-fat food mean it should be involved too in cooking our food for the day? Yes, low fat cooking is also needed. This means low fat frying. When we use our cooking oil, we do not put much, and we resort to cooking oil that is less fatty like canola oil or olive oil. When we fry, it is advisable we use nonstick pan. When we use this kind of pan to sauté our food, it reduces the amount of fat. Besides because of it being a nonstick, no need to put a large amount of oil. You can just have a drop of oil for your fish or chicken. Let us even go deeper and be serious about our losing weight. We cannot deny that we also go for diet drinks or low-calorie drinks. So we go for diet soda, tea, protein drinks. But let us not forget, that the best way is really water. The amount of water that we take is partnered with our intake of low-carb and low-fat foods. Getting enough water is important to our health and weight loss efforts. But are you drinking enough of it? You may be following the low-carb or the low fat, but it will be useless if your body is lacking the amount of water it needs. Without adequate water, your body could not function properly. If you are not in the habit of drinking water on a daily basis, and you suddenly drink the prescribed eight glasses of it, you will float away. Now, if you have too much activity, eight glasses may not be enough for you. It may require more right? That is all right for as long as you do not drink too much that your body could not handle it. Remember, anything that is too much is also bad. Besides, I doubt you can keep up with it no matter how much you force yourself.
